APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR 1976 STATE GRANT MONEYS
WASHINGTON PARK PHASE III DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the State, Urban and Coastal
Park Bond Act of 1976, which provides funds to the State of California and its political subdivisions
for acquiring lands for developing facilities for public recreation and historical purposes: and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the responsibility
for the administration of the program within the state, setting up necessary procedures governing
application by local agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and Recreation

WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the City must comply with; and
WHEREAS, the City will enter into an agreement with the State of California for the
acquisition and/or development of the project; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an appliation for 1976 state grant assistance; and
2. Certifies that the City understands the assurances in the application; and
3, Certifies that the City has or will have efficient funds to operate and
maintain the project; and
4. Certifies that the City has reviewed and understands the General Provisions
contained in the sample state/local agreement; and
5, Appoints the Director of Parks and Recreation as agent of the City to conduct
all negdWons, execute and submit all documents including but not limited
to applications, agreements, amendments, payment requests, and so on which
may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project,

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in special meeting assembled on the
26th day of April, 1977, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES; Councilmen Beckam, Diament, Sherratt, Tillman and President Corica, (5).
NOES: None. ABSENT: None.
