AUTHORIZING COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA AND STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR
THE BAY FARM ISLAND BIKE BRIDGE PROJECT
WHEREAS, on July 5, 1989, the City Council authorized
application for the Bay Farm Island Bike Bridge, under SB 140,
State -Local Transportation Demonstration Partnership Program, for
construction of a 10 -foot wide two -way bike bridge on the east side
of the Bay Farm Island Bridge; and
WHEREAS, on December 5, 1989, the Council directed staff
to pursue other funding sources to make up the reduced state share
for the project; and
WHEREAS, on June 7, 1990, the City Council authorized
allocation of $165,000 from Measure AA funds to be used as match
(50/50); and
WHEREAS, on February 5, 1991, East Bay Regional Parks
District (EPRPD) Board of Directors executed an agreement, which
guarantees matching funds in the amount of $165,000; and
WHEREAS, funds for the project have also been secured
from Transportation Development Act (TDA) Construction Improvement
Fund, Coastal Conservancy and Measure B;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that pursuant to the Streets and Highways Code
Section 130, it does hereby authorize a cooperative agreement
between the City of Alameda and California Department of
Transportation for the Bay Farm Island Bike Bridge Project,
effective December 1, 1991.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the fourth day of
February, 1992, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas, Roth
and President Withrow - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
