COMMENDING RAYMOND D. MARTIN FOR HIS MANY YEARS
OF SERVICE r0 THE CITY OF 8L8MEDA UPON HIS RETIREMENT
AS AUDITOR/EX-OFFICIO ASSESSOR
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA acknowledges with
pride the tenure of office of RAYMOND D. MARTIN, employee and
officer of the City of Alameda for thirteen years and eight months.
WHEREAS, Mr. Martin was first employed by the City in
June, 7966, as a Deputy Tax Collector and after diligent and
capable performance was appointed to the office of Auditor-Assessor
on January l, 1971; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Martin was elected to the office of Auditor/
ex-officio Assessor by the people of the City for a term commencing
April 17, 1973, and has subsequently been re-elected by the people,
his current term to expire in 1981; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Martin has demonstrated his loyalty and
competence in the discharge of his duties; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Martin during his tenure reorganized the
Accounting System to accommodate increased City activity and the
complexities created by Federal funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
City nf Alameda acknowledges with great esteem the many years of
outstanding service rendered by this faithful employee and officer;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of
Alameda and his many friends throughout the community extend
to "Ray" hearty congratulations and best wishes for continued
good health and happiness in the years to come.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council
Of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 19th day
of February, 1980, by the following vote, to wit:
