AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA BY ADOPTING THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION
ELEMENT_ THEREOF AND REVIEWING THE NEGATIVE
DECLARATION FOR SAID ELEMENT
WHEREAS, by its Ordinance No. 1586 New Series, enacted
April 8, 1969, the City adopted as its comprehensive, long -term
general plan for the physical development of the City, that
certain document consisting of text, diagrams, maps and other
materials, entitled, "Comprehensive General Plan - 1990 for
Alameda, California," all in accordance with Sections 65300 and
following, Government Code of California; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 65302 (j) of said Code, the
City desires to adopt a historical preservation element for the
identification, establishment, and protection of sites and
structures of architectural, historical, archaeological or
cultural significance, said element being defined and described
as the Historic Preservation Element of the General Plan; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that the City's said comprehensive General Plan be and
hereby is amended by adopting as its Historical Preservation
Element for the identification, establishment, and protection of
sites and structures of architectural, historical, archaeological
or cultural significance, that document hereinabove referred to
entitled, "Historic Preservation Element, Alameda, CA, March 1980,"
as heretofore filed in the office of the City Clerk.

Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the
Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled
on the 6th day of May, 1980, by the following vote, to wit:
