COMMENDING FLORENCE B. HYDE FOR HER MANY YEARS OF SERVICE
TO THE CITY OF ALAMEDA UPON HER RETIREMENT AS TREASURER -
TAX COLLECTOR
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA acknowledges with pride the
tenure of office of FLORENCE B. HYDE, employee and officer of the City
of Alameda for ten years.
WHEREAS, Mrs. Hyde was first employed by the City on September 1,
1970, as an Intermediate Typist Clerk and promoted on July 1, 1971, to
Assistant Deputy Treasurer and after diligent and capable performance was
appointed to the office of Treasurer -Tax Collector on June 1, 1978; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Hyde was elected to the office of Treasurer -
Tax Collector by the people of the City on March 6, 1979; and
WHEREAS, she performed her duties conscientiously and during
her tenure has reorganized the Office of Treasurer in response to many
changes which have occurred in the City; and
WHEREAS, FLORENCE B. HYDE has won the respect and admiration of
friends and colleagues and will be greatly missed by them all.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the, City of
Alameda commends and acknowledges with esteem the years of service rendered
by this faithful employee and officer; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda
and her many friends throughout the community extend to "Florence
hearty congratulations and best wishes for good health and happiness in
the years to come.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 19th day of August, 1980
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Stone, Tillman and
President Corica - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmen Sherratt - 1.
