DESIGNATING THE UNION IRON WORKS TURBINE MACHINE
SHOP BUILDING AND THE UNION IRON WORKS POWER HOUSE
AS ALAMEDA HISTORICAL MONUMENTS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that,
upon the recommendation of the Alameda Historical Advisory
Commission, said Council hereby designates the UNION IRON WORKS
TURBINE MACHINE SHOP BUILDING at 2200 Webster Street and the
UNION IRON WORKS POWER HOUSE at 2308 Webster Street as "Alameda
Historical Monuments."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the list of Historical Monuments
shall read:
1. Alameda City Hall
2, Alameda Theater
*3. Alameda High School
*4. St. Joseph's Basilica
5. Sanctuary Building of the First Presbyterian Church
6. First Church of Christ, Scientist
7. The Old Post Office Building, 2417 Central Avenue
8. First Congregational Church of Alameda
9. Croll Building
10. Old Masonic Hall
11. Second Empire Residence at 2233 Santa Clara Avenue
*l2. Union Iron Works Turbine Machine Shop Building
*13. Union Iron Works Power House
* On National Register of Historic Places.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City
of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 7th day of October, 1980,
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Sherratt, Stone, Tillman and
President Corica 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
