ENDORSING THE PASSAGE OF CALIFORNIA PARKLANDS BOND
ACT OF 1980 (PROPOSITION 1 ON NOVEMBER 4, 1980 BALLOT)
WHEREAS, Proposition 1, "California Parklands Act of 1980,"
to be voted upon in the November General Election, has a
provision to provide $85,000 000 in one hundred percent grants
to cities, counties and districts, and of dais amount the
estimated allocation for Alameda County is $3,896,850, and
WHEREAS, $30,000,000 will be provided for Urban Parks and
Recreation and $1,796,228 is allocated to Alameda County in
direct grants; and

WHEREAS, the Alameda County Mayors' Conference and the City
Alameda Recreation Commission have endorsed the passage of
position 1; and
WHEREAS, the State, Urban and Coastal Park Bond Act of
1976 provided fifteen percent of the total allocation to Regiona_
Park 'agencies and eighty -five percent of the total allocation to
any City or Special District going to provide historical, acqui-
sition, development or preservation projects, and
EREAS, the projects completed in the 1976 Bond Act have
and will continue to have an impact on the Urban Resources or
Recreation, Parks and Historical Facilities in Alameda County,
and that in order to build upon this success, the same p
for distribution of bond monies should be implemented, and
WHEREAS, the Alameda County Mayors' Conference and the
Alameda Recreation Commission have endorsed this distribution
formula; and
