AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT WITH TORREY &
TORREY INC IN CONNECTION WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT FOR THE PLAYA DEL ALAMEDA
PROJECT AT 716 CENTRAL AVENUE (OWNER SHUWA
INVESTMENT CORPORATION)
WHEREAS, Shuwa Investment Corporation has proposed to con-
struct forty units of Section 8 rental housing at 716 Central
Avenue in the City of Alameda, known as Playa Del Alameda; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has determined that an
Environmental Impact Report should be prepared to fulfill the
requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act; and
WHEREAS, a proposed agreement with Torrey & Torrey, a Cali-
fornia corporation, for its services relating to the preparation
of an EIR for the Playa Del. Alameda project has been submitted
to this Council, and the Council is fully informed and aware of
the terms and conditions thereof; and
WIJEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Alameda
that said agreement be entered into;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to execute, for and on behalf of the City of Alameda, that certain
agreement referred to above by and between Torrey & Torrey Inc.
and the City of Alameda for its services relating to the development
of an Environmental Impact Report on the Playa Del Alameda project.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to attest to same.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 16th of March, 1982,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Gorman, Sherratt, Stone, and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
