CALLING FOR BIDS FOR LEGAL ADVERTISING FOR THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1982-1983
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that
said Council will receive sealed bids up to the hour of 11:00 a.m.
on FRIDAY, JUNE 4, 1982, for the publication of all legal
advertising of said City during the fiscal year ending June 30,
1983.
Such advertising must be published in a newspaper of
general circulation published in the City of Alameda for a period
of not less than one year immediately nreceding the making of
such bid and having a bona fide paid circulation of at least
1,000 copies.
Said advertising shall be in accordance with the following
specifications:
(1) All advertisements shall be set in six-point type,
except that by request of the officer authorizing the same such
advertisement may be set in such larger type and with such spacing
between lines as such officer may direct;
(2) Title and sub-heading shall be set in six-paint
capitals, black-face type, or in such larger type as may be
specified by the officer authorizing the advertisement.
Bidders shall state in their proposals for doing said legal
advertising the price per column inch, set in six-point type,
according to the following schedule:
A price per column inch for the 1st insertion;
A price per column inch for the 2nd insertion;
A price per column inch for the 3rd and for
each subsequent insertion.
Bids must be presented to the City Clerk, in the City Hall,
Alameda, California, under sealed cover and plainly marked on the
outside, "Proposal for Legal Advertising--Fiscal Year 1982-1983."
Contract for such legal advertising, if awarded, will be
awarded subject to the provisions of the Charter of said City,
to the responsible bidder who submits the lowest and best bid. The
right is reserved to reject any or all bids.
The newspaper published by the bidder to whom such contract
is awarded shall be known, for the term of such contract, as the
"Official Newspaper" of the City for legal advertising.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise, in the
Alameda Times-Star, a notice calling for sealed bids in accordance
with the provisions of this resolution.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in a regular adjourned meeting assembled on May 11, 1982,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Gorman, Sherratt, Stone and President Corica -
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
