APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE
ALAMEDA CITY EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION AND CITY OF
ALAMEDA/BUREAU OF ELECTRICITY
WHEREAS, there has been submitted to this Council a
proposed Memorandum of Understanding between the Alameda City
Employees Association and the City of Alameda/Bureau of Electri-
city; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda. has fully
examined said proposed Memorandum of Understanding and thereby
finds that said proposed Memorandum of Understanding is in the
best interests of the City of Alameda;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that said Council hereby adopts and approves said
proposed Memorandum of Understanding.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the position classifications,
salary rates, salary ranges and salary steps set out in said
Memorandum of Understanding are hereby designated as those
applicable to the respective classifications in the service of
the City of Alameda, effective July 1, 1982.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the provisions of this
Resolution shall supersede any other resolution in conflict
herewith.

Effective July 1, `1983 the City will 'implement for all classifi-
cations a wage increase based on the following fo.imula;
The salary rates for all classifications shall be adjusted to
reflect an increase which shall be determined as provided be-
low on the basis of the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage
Earners and Clerical Workers, San Francisco - Bay Area, All
Items (1967=100), hereinafter referred to as the "Index ". Such
salary increase shall be computed on the basis of the change in
the Index from June 1982 to June 1983 as follows:
June 1983 Index - June 1982 Index X 75- Percentage Salary Increc
June 1982 Index Effective July 1, 1983
The Percentage Salary Increase effective July 1, 1983 shall be cor
puted to the nearest one-hundredth of a percent; provided, howevei
that the minimum salary increase that may be granted is Four Per-
cent (4 %) and the maximum salary increase that may be granted is
Seven Percent (7 %).
No adjustments, retroactive or otherwise, shall be made in the
amount of the salary increase due to any revision which later may
be made in the published figures for the Index' for any month on tr
basis of which the increase has been determined. A decline in the
Index shall not result in a reduction of classification base rates
The salary increase based on the Index shall be contingent upon
the continued availability of official monthly Bureau of Labor
Statistics Price Index.
Effective July 1, 1984 the City will implement for all classifi-
cations a wage increase based on the following' formula:
The salary rates for all classifications shall. be adjusted .to :re-
