Resolution 09891CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 9891
DESIGNATING CERTAIN LANDS IN THE CITY OF ALAMEDA AS THE
"WILLIAM M. McCALL, SR. FISHING PIER AND BOAT RAMP”.
WHEREAS, WILLIAM M. McCALL, SR., a native Alamedan, has
long been one of the City's most civic-minded and outstanding
citizens; and
WHEREAS, WILLIAM M. McCALL, SR., very capably served
the residents of the City for many years, being first appointed
to the Pension Board in January, 1953, from which position he
resigned upon his election to the City Council on April 21, 1953,
serving continuously thereafter as an elected member of the City
Council until April, 1975 during which time he was selected by
his fellow Councilmen to act as Mayor and President of the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, WILLIAM M. McCALL, SR. has been an avid sportsman
for many years and the motivating factor and prime moving force in
securing the new fishing breakwater and small craft launching
facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that in recognition of Mr. McCall's unselfish contri-
bution of time, effort and experience for the benefit of the
community that the lands located at the easterly edge of the
Alameda Naval Air Station adjacent to the Encinal High School be,
and the same are hereby designated as the "William M. McCall, Sr.
Fishing Pier and Boat Ramp".
I, the undersigned, hcheby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly adopted and pased by Council of the City 0 f Ala.HAa
in regular meeting assembled on the 21 c September, 1982, by the following
vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Gorman, Sherratt, Stone, and President Corica -
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the official
