RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ORDER VACATION OF LEANDRO
STREET AND PORTIONS OF MARKET STREET, FIXING TIME
AND PLACE FOR A HEARING AND ORDERING PUBLICATION AND
POSTING OF NOTICES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
that it is the intention of this Council, in accordance with
the provisions of the Public Streets, Highways, and Service
Easements Vacation Law of the State of California, to order the
vacation of the following unused portions of public thorough
fares in the City of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California:
1. All of Leandro Street (60 feet wide, unimproved)
and four separate parcels of excess property along
Fernside Boulevard including portions of Leandro
Street (abandoned), as more particularly described
in Exhibit 'A" attached hereto and made a part of
this resolution;
2. A portion of Market Street northeasterly of
Calhoun Street and a parcel of excess property
at Filimore Street and Fernside Boulevard, as more
particularly described in Exhibit "B" attached
hereto and made a part of this resolution;
3. A portion of the southwestern terminus of Market
Street, as more particularly described in Exhibit
'C" attached hereto and made a part of this
resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that reference is hereby made for
particulars of the proposed vacation to the following maps on
file in the office of the City Clerk:
1. That certain map entitled, "Leandro Street Abandon-
ment and Excess Property along Fernside Boulevard,"
prepared by the City Engineer, dated June, 1983,
denominated Drawing 7876, Case 51, in the records
of the City Engineer (Exhibit A)
2 That certain map entitled, "Market Street Abandon-
ment and. Excess Property Along Fernside Boulevard,'
prepared by the City Engineer, dated June, 1983,
denominated Drawing 7875, Case 54, in the records
of the City Engineer (Exhibit B);
That certain map entitled, "Abandonment of Market
Street South of Bridge View Isle,' prepared by
Le•

the City Engineer, dated June, 1983, denominated
Drawing 7873, Case 54, in the records of the City
Engineer (Exhibit C).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all proceedings for the vaca-
tions herein proposed shall be in accordance with the provisions
of Chapter 3 of Part 3 of Division 9, of the Streets and Highways
Code of California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice is hereby given that
the 4th day of October, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. is hereby fixed as
the time, and the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Alameda,
California, as the place, for hearing all persons interested in
or objecting to the herein proposed vacations.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby
directed to cause notices of the street vacations herein proposed
to be posted conspicuously along the line of said streets, at
least fourteen (14) days before the date set for said hearing.
Such notices shall be posted not more than 300 feet apart, but
at least three (3) notices shall be posted, and such notices shall
state the passage of this resolution of intention and the time
and place of the hereinabove mentioned hearing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby
directed to have this resolution published in the manner prescribed
in Section 3-14 of the Charter of the City of Alameda for the
publishing of ordinances. Notice of said proposed street vacations
shall be published in the manner prescribed by Section 8322 of
the Streets and Highways Code.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION FOR ABANDONMENT OF
LEANDRO STREET (Unimproved)
In the City of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California, All of
LEANDRO STREET (60 feet wide, unimproved), as said street is delineated and so
designated on that certain map entitled, "Map No. 2 of Salt Marsh and Tide
Lands situate in the County of Alameda, State of California, 1871 ", certified
copies thereof having been filed with the County Recorder of the City and
County of San Francisco, and in the office of the Department of Finance,
Division of State Lands, State of California, and as also shown and so desig-
nated on the "Map of the Town of Alameda and Adjacent Lands ", filed for record
September 12, 1867 in Book 5 of Maps, at page 16, in the office of the Alameda
County Recorder;
The southeastern boundary of said Leandro Street is more particularly
defined as the northwestern boundaries of Blocks 58 and 67, as said blocks are
shown on said Town map, and the general northwestern boundary of Parcel 1, as
said Parcel is described in the Final Order of Condemnation, Suit No. 435600,
in the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for the. County of
Alameda, recorded August 29, 1974, on Reel 3764, Image 594, in the office of
the Alameda County Recorder;
EXCEPTING THEREFROM all those portions thereof lying within the new right —of-
way for FERNSIDE BOULEVARD as extended, a relevant portion of which is
described as follows:
BEGINNING at the most western corner of that certain Block D, as said block is
shown on the map entitled, "Tract 1849 ", filed for record June 6, 1958 in
Book 38 of Maps, page 87, said corner having the coordinates :_ y= 461,091.95
feet and x= 1,499,849.76 feet, (based upon the California Coordinate
System, as are all bearings and distances in this description);
THENCE along the arc of a curve, tangent to the northwestern boundary of said
Block D, and concave to the southeast and having a radius of 1000 feet,
through a central angle of 3'37127.5 ", an arc distance of 63.26 feet to a

September 12, 1867 in Book 5 of Maps, at page 16, in the office of the Alameda
County Recorder, also including portions of Lot 30, Section 18, Township 2
South, Range 3 West, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian, as shown on that certain
map entitled, "Map No. 2 of Salt Marsh and Tide Lands situate in the County of
