CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO.10184
ACCEPTANCE OF ASSOCIATION OF BAY AREA GOVERI'FILNTS PROJECTED HOUSING
NEEDS 1980-1990
WHEREAS, the Association of Bay Area Governments is the council of govern-
ments (hereinafter "ABAG") under the Joint Exercise of Powers Act for the San
Francisco Bay Area; and
WHEREAS, each council of governments is required by Section 65584 of the
Government Code, as added by Chapter 1143, Statutes of 1980 (hereinafter
"Section 65584"), to determine the existing and projected housing needs for its
region; and
WHEREAS, each council of governments is further required to determine each
city's and county's share of the regional housing needs; and
WHEREAS, ABAG's staff has prepared and circulated, for public review and
comment, a draft Housing Needs Determinations, San Francisco Bay Region, dated
July, 1983 meeting the requirements of Section 65584; and
WHEREAS, at a meeting held July 28, 1983 ABAG's Work Program and Coordination
Committee, acting for the ABAG Executive Board, approved the Housing Needs Deter-
minations report for distribution to cities and counties throughout the Bay Area
for review; and
WHEREAS, ABAG's staff has worked with the staff of the City of Alameda to
ensure that the most complete and reliable information has been used in the
determination of housing needs for this jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, the ABAG 1980-1990 housing needs determinations for the City of
Alameda for persons at all income levels as shown on Table 1 of the Housing
Needs Determinations Report are consistent with approved City policies for
growth and development, and ability to accommodate new residential dwelling
units.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that
pursuant to Section 65584, the City of Alameda accepts the determination of its
share of the regional housing need, as contained in Table 1 of the July 28, 1983
Housing Needs Determinations Report published by ABAG with the understanding
that such acceptance is limited to only those determinations contained in Table 1
as required by law and does not extend to determinations of sub-components as
shown in other tables in the Report; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED this acceptance is effective October 28, 1983 and that
a copy Of.this resolution be transmitted to the Executive Director of the Associ-
ation of Bay Area Governments.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in a regular adjourned meeting assembled on the
20th day of October, 1983, by the following vote to
