REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF ALAMEDA TO
LEVY A TAX ON ALL REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY IN THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA AS A VOTER APPROVED LEVY FOR THE
LIBRARY FUND, PURSUANT TO SECTION 16 -2 OF THE CHARTER
OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
WHEREAS, Section 16 -2 of the Charter of the City of
Alameda, adopted by a vote of the people on April 29, 1937,
authorized the Council to levy and apportion a tax on all real
and personal property in Alameda to the Library Fund;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that the County of Alameda is hereby requested and
authorized to assume on behalf of the CCity of Alameda for the
1984 -1985 and 1985 -1986 fiscal years the collection, payment
and enforcement of a one and seventy -five one hundredth (1.75)
cent levy on each $100 of assessed valuation in the City of
Alameda, which amount shall be in addition to present ad valorem
property tax collections for the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all monies arising therefrom
E. shall be apportioned to the Library Fund pursuant to Section 16 -2

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in a Regular Adjourned Council Meeting assembled
on the 26th day of June, 1984, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Monsef and President Diament - 4.
NOES: Councilmember Lucas - 1.
ABSENT: None.
