Resolution 10376CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 10376 CONFIRMING CANVASS BY REGISTRAR OF VCTERS OF ALAMEDA COUNTY OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTICN CONSOLIDATED WITH THE STATE PRIMARY ELECTION HELD ON TUESDAY, JUNE 5, 1984 WHEREAS, the Registrar of Voters of the County of Alameda did duly canvass the votes cast in the City of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California, at the Special Election consoli- dated with the State of California Primary Election held on June 5, 1984, in said City, by the electors of said City upon the Charter Amendment Measure hereinafter set forth, and the Registrar of Voters of said County did certify to this Council the results of the votes cast at said Election upon said Measure, which certification is now on file in the office of the City Clerk. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA as follows: 1. Said canvass by the Registrar of Voters of Alameda County as shown by said certification and the result of said Election is hereby ratified, confirmed and approved. 2. At said Election the following Charter Amendment to the Charter of the City of Alameda was submitted to the electors of said City and the number of votes cast in said City for and against said Measure were as follows: MEASURE C: Shall the Charter of the City of Alameda be amended to provide that the building located on Assessor's Parcel 74-906-13-2 which is alternately known as the Union Iron Works Turbine Machine Shop, the Bethlehem Steel Building, and the "Red Brick Building" shall be exempt from the provisions of Article XXVI, Section 26-1; this exemption shall pertain only to the "Red Brick Building?" Said amend- ment will be accomplished by adding Section 26-3 to Article XXVI of the Charter, all as fully set forth in Pesolution No. 10256 of the Council of the City of Alameda. TOTAL TOTAL VOTE VOTE "YES" "NO" 7,250 9,572 3. The total number of votes cast in the City of Alameda at said Special Election and the total number of votes given in each precinct for and against said Measure was and is as set forth in said Canvass by the Registrar of Voters of Alameda County. 4. Less that a majority of all the votes cast at said Special Election on Measure C were in favor of said Measure and, accordingly, did not authorize the amendment to the Charter of the City of Alameda as set forth in said Measure, and Measure C did not pass. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a Regular Adjourned Council Meeting assembled on the 26th day of June, 1984, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament — 5.
