Resolution 10401CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 10401
AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF AN AMBULANCE
FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, funds are available in the Fiscal Year 1984-
1985 Ambulance Program Budget for the purchase of an ambulance
and related equipment required to implement the Basic Life Support
Emergency Ambulance Transport Program; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the best vehicle
for the program is a 1984 Ford E-350 Type II Wheeled Coach Ambulance;
and
WHEREAS, a survey of vendors has revealed Arata Equipment
Company, Tucson, Arizona, affiliated with Arata Equipment of
Burlingame, California, as the most competitive supplier of said
vehicle; and
WHEREAS, Arata Equipment is prepared to deliver said
ambulance within thirty days after receipt of an order therefor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter
the Fire Chief or his designee and the Purchasina Agent are
hereby authorized to negotiate and purchase a 1984 Ford E-350
Type II Wheeled Coach Ambulance for the Fire Department on the

open market.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 7th of August, 1984,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
