REQUESTING THE ALAMEDA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO
FUND CARNALES UNIDOS REFORMANDO AD1CT OS, INC. (C.U.R.A.), A
REHABILITATION FACILITY FOR DRUG ADDICTION TREATMENT
C.U.R.A. has provided drug rehabilitation se

the County Board of Supervisors discontinued C.U.R.A. contract on a three
to two vote, effective August 31, 1984; and
immediately following the defending a new administration was hired to
manage the agency which implemented stronger managerial controls over
the agency and which placed emphasis upon recruiting highly qualified new
staff members, and have made themselves more self - sufficient; and

The City Councils of Newark and Fremont have recommended that the
Alameda County Board of Supervisors reconsider their action based on the
new reorganization and restaffing, and as importantly on the valuable
experience which C.U.R.A. received in dealing with clients of the
Southern Alameda County area over the past twelve years.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that the
Council goes on record as urging the Alameda County Board of Supervisors and the
Alameda County Health Care Services agency to reconsider the C.U.R.A. proposal.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 18th of December, 1984,
by the following vote to wit:
