AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC
UTILITIES COMMISSION TO CONSTRUCT A CITY STREET
ACROSS A SOUTHERN PACIFIC TRANSPORTATION COMPANY
RIGHT--OF-WAY AT MARINA VILLAGE PARKWAY SOUTH
WHEREAS, it has been determined that a public need would
be served by the construction of a. City street across a Southern
Pacific Transportation Company right-of-way at Marina Village
Parkway South to provide all-weather access and increase con-
venience to existing and projected development in the area on
the easterly side of said Southern Pacific Transportation Company
right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, the Environmental Assessment Committee has
reviewed this project and found it to be categorically exempt
under Section 15101(c), formerly Section 15101(3), of the Guide-
lines for the Implementation of CEQA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Alameda that the City Manager is hereby authorized for
and on behalf of the City of Alameda to make application to
the Public Utilities Commission of the State of California for
an ex parte order authorizing construction of a City street
across a Southern Pacific Transportation Company right-of-way
at Marina Village Parkway South.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5th of February, 1985,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
