AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT
CLASS MOTORCYCLES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, funds are available in the Fiscal Year 1984-85
equipment replacement fund for the purchase of two law enforcement
class motorcycles for the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined the most economical law
enforcement class motorcycle available for Alameda's intended
use is the Harley-Davidson police motorcycle; and
WHEREAS, a survey of vendors has revealed Bob Dron Harley-
Davidson Motorcycles, Inc. as the most competitive supplier of
said vehicles;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter
this Council hereby approves the open market purchase of two
law enforcement class motorcycles from Bob Dron Harley-Davidson
Motorcycles, Inc. at the all inclusive cost of $12,556.35.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5th of March, 1985,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament -- 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT:
None.
