AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT A LETTER
REQUESTING URBAN MASS TRANSPORTATION ADMINISTRATION
GRANT FUNDS TO DEFRAY NON-OPERATING COSTS ASSOCIATED
WITH THE HOVER MARINE DEMONSTRATION AND TRIAL BEING
CONDUCTED AT HARBOR BAY
WHEREAS, the Urban Mass Transportation Administration
wishes to encourage private industry to share the burden of mass
transit; and
WHEREAS, Harbar Bay, a private entity, is willing to commit
sizeable dollars for a public need believing there is a need for
high speed ferry service in the San Francisco Bay area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit
a letter requesting Urban Mass Transportation Administration grant
funds to defray non-operating costs associated with the Hover
Marine demonstration and trial being conducted at Harbor Bay.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5th of March, 1985,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
