AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT TO THE GRANT
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF ALAMEDA AND THE ALAMEDA
MAIN STREET PROJECT, INC.
WHEREAS, the City is a participant in the Community
Development Block Grant Program authorized under the Housing
and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda's economic development
strategy calls for programs and activities to stimulate and
revitalize the downtown and neighborhood commercial areas of
the City; and
WHEREAS, the City has programmed funds from the Community
Development Block Grant program for the purpose of providing
information and technical assistance to merchants and property
owners for historic preservation, facade and other building
improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Alameda Main Street Project, Inc. is uniquely
suited to provide such assistance; and
WHEREAS, on June 7, 1934 the City of Alameda and the
Alameda Main Street Project, Inc. entered into an agreement
to provide such services; and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of both the City of Alameda
and the Alameda Main Street Project, Inc. to amend said agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Alameda that the City-Manager be and hereby is authorized
to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, on behalf of the
City, Amendment No. 1 to that certain Grant Agreement Between
the City of Alameda and the Alameda Main Street Project, Inc.
to provide that:
1. Section (a) of Paragraph 1 shall be amended from
"for the twelve (12) month period beginning with the effective
date of this Agreement" to "for the fiscal year 1984-1985."
2. Section (b) shall be added to Paragraph 1 to read:
"An additional sum of $13,000 to be used by the Subgrantee
pursuant to terms of:this Agreement."
3. A new Part II - TERMS AND CONDITIONS shall become
a part of the agreement to provide for Office of Management
and Budget Circular A-102 and A-122, Conflict of Interest,
Workers Compensation and other insurance requirements.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd of April, 1985,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Hanna, Monsef and President Diament - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmember Lucas - 1.
