Resolution 10800CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 10800 AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF A PUMP PLANT ALARM SYSTEM PURSUANT TO SECTION 3 -15 OF THE CITY CHARTER WHEREAS, funds are available in the 1985 -86 Capital Improvements budget for a new radio - transmitted alarm system for each pump plant as part of the sanitary sewer replacement project #81 -3; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the only system designed to satisfy the City's needs is Motorola's INTRAC 2000 radio alarm and control system, which will monitor and control an entire network of geographically dispersed equipment; and WHEREAS, the only FCC frequency range available in the Bay Area is in the new 900 MHz band recently allocated and Motorola is the only company with 900 MHz radio control equipment; and WHEREAS, it is found that purchase of the subject alarm system on the open market is the best interests of the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3 -15 of the City Charter said Council hereby authorizes the purchase from Motorola Communications and Electronics, Inca of a radio- transmitted alarm system for each pump plant as part of the sanitary sewer replacement project #81 -3 I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 17th of December, 1985, by the following vote to wit: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef, and President Diament - 5.
