AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF PUBLIC SAFETY
COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, there are funds available in the Police
Communications Equipment budget for the purchase of replacement
police portable radios, and
WHEREAS, Motorola is the only company that can provide
the necessary radio equipment and guarantee compatibility with
the present public safety communications system, reliable
maintenance and availability of parts;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter the
Police Department, in cooperation with the City Purchasing
Agent, is hereby authorized to purchase ten (10) portable radios
from Motorola at a unit price of $2,934.08.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 16th of December, 1986,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef
and. President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
