AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF FIVE PATROL
VEHICLES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, there are funds available in the Police
Department budget for the purchase of five replacement patrol
vehicles; and
WHEREAS, Swift Dodge Company in Sacramento submitted the
low bid for patrol vehicles to the State of California Department
of General Services; and
WHEREAS, the bid by Swift Dodge is available to other
government agencies and purchase of the patrol vehicles from this
firm will result in considerable savings to the City,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3 -15 of the City Charter the
Police Department, in cooperation with the City Purchasing Agent,
is hereby authorized to purchase five Dodge Diplomats with
necessary options from Swift Dodge Company of Sacramento.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 3rd of February, 1987,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas and
President Diament - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Vice Mayor Monsef - 1.
