CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11115
SUPPORTING GENERAL CONCEPT OF "RING AROUND THE BAY",
A CONTINUOUS BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN PATH AROUND THE
SAN FRANCISCO BAY
WHEREAS, State Senator Bill Lockyer has introduced Senate
Bill 100 to begin a process to achieve his goal of providing for
new and existing bicycle and pedestrian paths to be linked as one
continuous route around the San Francisco Bay; and
WHEREAS, this "Ring Around the Bay" concept would secure
public access to the Bay without conflicting with efforts to
preserve the Bay and its natural environment; and
WHEREAS, this concept has been reviewed with interest by
representatives from various park districts, planning
commissions, environmental and cycling groups;
cD NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
, of Alameda that this Council supports the general concept of a
"Ring Around the Bay."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby
directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to
Senator Bill Lockyer.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 17th of February, 1987,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and
President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
