RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING "NATIONAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WEEK"
AND ENCOURAGING ALAMEDA CITIZENS AND ORGANIZATIONS TO PARTICIPATE
IN ACTIVITIES THAT ADDRESS LOCAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NEEDS
WHEREAS, the One Hundredth Congress of the United States of America has
designated the week of April 11 through April 18, 1987, as "National
Community Development Week "; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has participated in the federal Community
Development Block Grant Program since 1974; and
WHEREAS, the use of Community Development Block Grant funds in the City
of Alameda has benefitted the general citizenry of Alameda, and low- and
moderate - income residents in particular, through the provision of
numerous public works, human services and economic development
activities; and
WHEREAS, a week recognizing the Community Development program will
heighten public awareness of community development issues and
opportunities for involvement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Alameda that the week of April 11 through April 18, 1987 is hereby
recognized as "National Community Development Week "; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Alameda Citizens and Organizations are
hereby encouraged to participate in activities that address local
community development needs.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 17th day of March, 1987
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas,
Monsef and President Diament - 5
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
