AUTHORIZING ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FROM THE
DWELLING UNIT TAX ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE FOR
DEVELOPING ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS FOR THE
BICYCLE STAGING AREA AT PEACH STREET AND
BRIDGE VIEW ISLE
WHEREAS, the 1.5 acres of undeveloped land located just
west of the Bay Farm Island Bridge at Peach Street and Bridge
View Isle, commonly referred to as the "bicycle staging area ", is
listed in the 1977 -78 capital improvement budget for development,
pending available funding and Council approval; and
WHEREAS, in return for storage privileges during the past
several years, the East Bay Municipal Utility District has agreed
to pay one -half of the City's costs for hiring an architect to
develop design drawings for a bicycle staging area project; and
WHEREAS, proposals for landscape design of the staging
area have been requested and the lowest of four proposals,
submitted by Bassett & Ciofalo Landscape Architects, is in the
amount of $8,500.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the sum of $4,250 offered by East Bay Municipal
'Utility District to pay for one -half of the total $8,500 costs to
develop design drawings for the bicycle staging area is hereby
accepted and the sum of $4,250 is hereby allocated from the
Dwelling Unit Tax Fund to pay the City's share of said costs.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 7th of July, 1987,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Camicia, Haugner, Monsef, Thomas
and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
