AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF MODULAR
AMBULANCE FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, there are funds available in the 1987 -88
Ambulance Program Capital Outlay Budget and the 1987 -88 Emergency
Ambulance Transport Program Budget, Account 5105, First Aid
Supplies for the purchase of an ambulance and communication
equipment for the Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the best vehicle for
the program is a 1987 Ford E350, Type III, Super Rescue, Wheeled
Coach modular ambulance; and
WHEREAS, a survey of vendors has revealed Arata Equipment
Co. of Burlingame, as the most competitive supplier of said
vehicle and has provided superior equipment and excellent service
to the Fire Department in the past; and
WHEREAS, Arata Equipment Co. is prepared to deliver said
ambulance immediately upon receipt of order therefor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3 -15 of the City Charter the
Fire Chief or his designee and the Purchasing Agent are hereby
authorized to negotiate and purchase a 1987 Ford E350, Type III,
Super Rescue, Wheeled Coach Modular Ambulance for the Fire
Department on the open market.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passedloy
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 18th of August, 1987,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Camicia, Haugner, Monsef, Thomas
and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
