CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11318
REJECTING ALL BIDS AND APPROVING NEGOTIATION
ON THE OPEN MARKET FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW
RECREATION BUILDING AND RELATED IMPROVEMENTS
AT FRANKLIN PARK
WHEREAS, on September 15, 1987, this Council adopted
Plans and Specifications P.W. No. 6-87-14 and called for bids
for the Construction of a New Recreation Building and Related
Improvements at Franklin Park; and
WHEREAS, two comparable bids were submitted in an amount
significantly higher than the architect's estimate and were not
considered acceptable; and
WHEREAS, since there were only two bids and both were
considerably higher than the architect's estimate, it would be to
the City's benefit to negotiate a proposal for the project on the
- *- open market.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
( h of Alameda that said Council hereby rejects all bids received for
the construction of a new recreation building and related
improvements at Franklin Park.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that staff is hereby authorized to
1;-; negotiate on the open market for said construction.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 20th of October, 1987,
by the following vote to wit:
ANTES: Councilmembers Camicia, Haugner, Monsef, Thomas
and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
