AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT WITH RATCLIFF
ARCHITECTS FOR CONSTRUCTION FEASIBILITY STUDY,
PRELIMINARY DESIGN AND COST ESTIMATE OF A TYPE I
JAIL FACILITY
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda on February
16, 1988 approved in concept the construction and operation of a
Type I Jail Facility and authorized the Chief of Police to
solicit a proposal to determine construction feasibility,
architectural design, and estimated cost of the project; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it would be in the
City's best interest to have the same architects that designed
the Police Administration Building conduct the jail construction
feasibility study, preliminary design, and develop the cost
estimate of the project; and
WHEREAS, Ratcliff Architects designed the Police
Administration Building, conducted the project management, and
has submitted a proposal to do the work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the City Manager and the City Clerk be, and
each hereby is, authorized and directed to execute and to attest
to, respectively, on behalf of the City, an agreement with
›Ratcliff Architects for the construction feasibility study,
preliminary design, and cost estimate of a Type I Jail Facility
at a cost not-to-exceed $28,5000.

1, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 5th of April, 1988,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Thomas, Monsef, Camicia, Haugner
and President Corica.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
