DESIGNATION OF THE WEBSTER HOUSE AT 1238 VERSAILLES AS CITY
HISTORICAL MONUM NT NO. 22
WHEREAS, the Webster House is the oldest documented house remaining in
the City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, the Webster House is the chief example of Gothic Revival
architecture in the City; and
WHEREAS, the Webster House has been well preserved with only minor
exterior modifications; and
WHEREAS, the Webster family played a notable ro e n he e y history of
he City of Alameda.
NOW, THEREFORE, T R D by the Council of the City of
CIZ\ Alarneda to designate the exterior of the Webster House as City Historical Monument
i;',No. 22, and worthy of protection and preservation.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 19th of April, 1988,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Camicia, Haugner, Monsef, Thomas
and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
