AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR
ELECTIVE COVERAGE UNDER STATE DISABILITY
INSURANCE FOR ALL A.C.E.A. COVERED EMPLOYEES
PURSUANT TO SECTION 710.5 OF THE CALIFORNIA
UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE CODE
WHEREAS, on March 1, 1988, the Council of the City of
Alameda, by its Resolution No. 11416, approved a Memorandum of
Understanding with the Alameda City Employees' Association for
the period of July 1, 1987, through September 30, 1990; and
WHEREAS, as part of the negotiated settlement with the
Alameda City Employees' Association bargaining unit, Section 26.8
of the Memorandum of Understanding provides for an election to
determine if the members wish to be covered by State Disability
Insurance at the employees' own expense; and
WHEREAS, on April 28, 1988, the Alameda City Employees'
Association voted seventy one (71) to twenty three (23) to be
covered by State Disability Insurance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that said Council hereby authorizes the filing of an
application for elective coverage under state disability
insurance for all employees who are members of the Alameda City
Employees' Association.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 17th of May, 1988,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Camicia, Haugner, Monsef, Thomas
and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
