Resolution 11483CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11483 SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING DATE TO AMEND THE EXISTING DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS PROGRAM IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE 1987 SURFACE TRANSPORTATION AND UNIFORM RELOCATION ASSISTANCE ACT WHEREAS, the 1982 Surface Transportation Act provided for minority participation in public works projects which are funded by Federal Aid Urban (FAU) Transportation funds; and WHEREAS, the Act created two participation programs: 1) Disadvantaged Business (DB) and 2) Women-Owned Business Enterprises (WBE); and WHEREAS, the minimum goals to be achieved in a construction contract, as established by the Federal Registrar, was 10% for DB and 1% for WBE; and WHEREAS, on January 3, 1988, the City Council, by Resolution No. 10231, established a DB/WBE program; and WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) directive of March 28, 1988, that all local agencies amend their DB/WBE programs to coincide with the 1987 Surface Transportation and Uniform Relocation Assistance Act states that the amendment to the agency's existing DB/WBE program can be accomplished by holding a public hearing and passing a City Council resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that the public hearing date to amend the Existing Disadvantaged Business Program in accordance with the 1987 Surface Transportation and Uniform Relocation Assistance Act is ' hereby set for July 5, 1988. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby irected to advertise said hearing date.
