APPROPRIATING FUNDS FROM THE GAS TAX FUND FOR THE
DEVELOPMENT OF THE ALAMEDA COUNTY TRANSPORTATION PLAN
WHEREAS, the Alameda County Board of Supervisors, the
Mayors' Conference and the Alameda County City Management
Association have all endorsed the concept of developing an
Alameda County Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Transportation Plan Commission composed
of elected officials is being created to govern the development
of the Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS, Alameda County has experienced substantial
growth in population with an approximate fifty percent increase
since the 1950's and the traffic problem in the City of Alameda
has been escalating; and
WHEREAS, transportation funding has not kept pace with
the need for improvements to the highway and transit systems and
congestion has increased in all areas of the County including the
City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, the development of the County Transportation
Plan is a cooperative venture of the County, Cities, transit
operators, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and
Caltrans and is expected to be completed in eighteen months; and
WHEREAS, the cost allocated to Alameda for the Plan's

development is $6,000.
■ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
0 \ City of Alameda that $6,000 be appropriated from the
unappropriated fund balance from Section 2107.5 of the Gas Tax
Fund as payment of Alameda's share of the local cost for
preparation of the Alameda County Transportation Plan.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 19th of July, 1988,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Camicia, Haugner, Monsef, Thomas
and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
