RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
FOR
DR, JEAN SHARP, CITY PHYSICIAN
WHEREAS, Dr. Jean Harriet Smith Sharp was born in Alameda, and
WHEREAS, Dr. Jean Sharp attended Haight School and Alameda High
School, the University of California, Hiedelberg
University, Johannas Gutenberg and Cambridge University
and earned her doctorate of medicine; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Jean Sharp first served the City of Alameda as a
public health nurse and then as an Emergency Surgeon;
and
WHEREAS, Dr. Jean Sharp was named City Physician for the City of
Alameda on May 2, 1971; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Jean Sharp has served continuously in that capacity
until her retirement on September 30, 1988; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Jean Sharp has worked continously in the best
interest of good medicine and the City of Alameda.
NOW, THEREFORE, let it be resolved that the City Council of
Alameda hereby declares that Dr. Jean Sharp has
served the City well and faithfully for these many
years and has the respect of the City Council who
appreciates her years of professional dedication and
work on behalf of the City of Alameda.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 6th of September, 1988,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Comicia, Monsef, Thomas
and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
