GUARANTEEING MATCHING FUNDS FOR
BIKE LANE ACCOUNT PROJECTS
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda's adopted Bicycle Master
Plan (1976) identifies several projects that are necessary to
complete a comprehensive, safe, and contiguous bicycle network;
and
WHEREAS, one funding source, available on a competitive
basis only, is the Cal -Trans Bike Lane Account; and
WHEREAS, proposals are due on December 1, 1988, and must
include a resolution by Council guaranteeing matching funds, and
WHEREAS, two projects that are eligible for said funds
are 1) Mariner Square Loop Bike Path with the estimated project
cost being $57,500 and the minimum required matching funding
being $5,750 and 2) the Bay Farm Island East End Undercrossing
Connection with the estimated project cost being $42,500 and the
minimum required matching funding being $4,250.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that said Council hereby guarantees matching funds for
Bike Lane Account Projects in the amount of $10,000.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 15th of November, 1988,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Monsef, Thomas
and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
