AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT WITH ISLAND
CITY GUN CLUB, INC. TO TERMINATE LEASE
WHEREAS, on January 15, 1960, the City of Alameda entered
into a lease agreement with the Island City Gun Club, Inc. to
lease certain lands on Bay Farm Island for a period of 20 years
with the option to renew the lease for an additional 20 year
period; and
WHEREAS, on June 21, 1983, the City closed the Gun Club
operation by passing Ordinance No. 2138 prohibiting outdoor
shooting at said facility; and
WHEREAS, the City has entered into a Settlement Agreement
with Harbor Bay Isle Associates which includes development of a
recreational vehicle and mini-storage facility on said property,
subject to the gun Club agreeing to terminate their lease with
the City for compensation in the sum of $60,000; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said Settlement Agreement, the gun
Club would be given a 30-day notice to vacate the premises prior
to the effective date of the termination;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the City Manager and the City Clerk be, and each
hereby is, authorized and directed to execute and to attest to,
respectively, on behalf of the City, an agreement to terminate
the leasehold interest by the Island City Gun Club, Inc. to the
City in return for payment of $60,000;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Island City Gun Club,
inc. b has 30-days to vacate said premises from date of this
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 21st of February, 1989,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Counclmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Monsef, Thomas
and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None,
