Resolution 11798CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11798
AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF AN AMBULANCE
FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, there are funds available in the 1989 -90
Ambulance Program Capital Outlay Budget for the purchase of an
ambulance for the Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the best vehicle for
the program is a 1989 Ford E350, Type II, Wheeled Coach
ambulance; and
WHEREAS, a survey of vendors has revealed Arata Equipment
Co. of Burlingame, CA, as the most competitive supplier of said
vehicle and has provided superior equipment and excellent service
to the Fire Department in the past; and
WHEREAS, Arata Equipment Co. is prepared to deliver said
ambulance immediately upon receipt of order therefor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3 -15 of the City Charter the
Fire Chief or his designee and the Purchasing Agent are hereby
authorized to negotiate and purchase a 1989 Ford E350, Type II,
Wheeled Coach ambulance for the Fire Department on the open
market.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 15th of August, 1989,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Thomas,
Withrow and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
