Resolution 11808CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11808 AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT CLASS MOTORCYCLE FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, there are funds available in the 1989 -90 Equipment Replacement Fund to allow for the purchase of a motorcycle for the Police Department; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the best motorcycle for Alameda's intended use is the 1990 model FXRP -WIND Harley Davidson, police class motorcycle that meets the California Highway Patrol Specification; and WHEREAS, Bob Dron - Harley Davidson Motorcycles, Inc. is the only authorized vendor under the State Purchase Contract for this specific model; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 3 -15 of the City Charter, the Council may determine that materials or supplies can be purchased at a lower price in the open market and thereupon proceed to purchase such materials in the open market. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3 -15 of the City Charter the Police Department, in cooperation with the City Purchasing Agent, is hereby authorized to purchase one 1990 model FXRP -WIND Harley Davidson motorcycle from Bob Dron - Harley Davidson, Inc, at the all inclusive cost of $6,956.00 in the open market without formal bidding procedures. App C A ©RN I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5th of September, 1989, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Thomas Withrow and President Corica - 5.
