AWARDING CONTRACT TO PRIME CONSTRUCTION COMPANY
FOR RENOVATION OF 18 HOLES AT THE EARL FRY GOLF
COURSE, AUTHORIZING EXECUTION THEREOF, AND
APPROPRIATING FUNDS FROM THE GOLF COURSE
ENTERPRISE ACCOUNT
WHEREAS, at the Alameda City Council meeting of March 14,
1989, Resolution No. 11669 was approved authorizing staff to
proceed with development of a request for proposal to renovate
the 18 greens on the Earl Fry Golf Course; and
WHEREAS, proposals have been received from six qualified
construction companies with the lowest cost proposal being
submitted by Prime Construction Company from Walnut Creek in the
amount of $412,100.00; and
WHEREAS, said firm is a responsible bidder, background
checks resulted in excellent reviews from previous employers, and
its proposal is the lowest and best bid received;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the bid of Prime Construction Company is hereby
accepted, the contract for renovation of 18 holes at the Earl Fry
Golf Course is hereby awarded to said bidder, and the Mayor is
hereby authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, said
contract on behalf of the City of Alameda.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Alameda that the sum of $453,420 is hereby appropriated from the
Golf Course Enterprise Account to fund said project including a
10% contingency.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 5th of September, 1989,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Thomas,
Withrow and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
