AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT WITH PETER CULLEY AND
ASSOCIATES FOR ASSISTING IN THE PREPARATION OF A MITIGATION
AND IMPLEMENTATION PROGRAM FOR POTENTIALLY
HAZARDOUS BUILDINGS (URM'S - SB 547/1986)
WHEREAS, on January 27, 1989, this Council approved a
status report on Senate Bill 547 - Unreinforced Masonry Buildings;
and
WHEREAS, on August 11, 1989, a Request for Proposals was
sent out to thirteen engineering firms; and
WHEREAS, on August 25, 1989, five proposals in response
were received.
WHEREAS, after evaluation of the proposals by the U.R.M.
Committee, the firm of Peter Culley and Associates was selected,
on the basis of its experience for assisting in the preparation of
a Mitigation and Implementation Program for Potentially Hazardous
Buildings (URM's - SB 547/1896).
NOT, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the City Manager and the City Clerk be, and each
hereby is, authorized and directed to execute and to attest to,
respectively, on behalf of the City, an agreement with Peter Culley
and Associates, for assisting in the preparation of a Mitigation
and Implementation Program for Potentially Hazardous Buildings
(URM's SB 547/1986).
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 17th of October, 1989,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Thomas, Withrow and
President Corica - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmember Camicia - 1.
