AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 12199 TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF
WORDS IN THE STATEMENT OF BALLOT MEASURE PERTAINING TO
PRESERVATION OF PUBLIC PARKS
BE IT RESOLVED that the second "Resolved" paragraph of
Resolution No. 12199 is hereby amended to read:
"BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City
of Alameda hereby proposes to and does hereby on its own
motion submit to the qualified electors of the City at
the June 2, 1992 election the proposal to amend the City
of Alameda Charter by adding Section 22-12 in the manner
hereinabove specifically set forth, as follows:
MEASURE Proposed Charter Amendment
of the City of Alameda
Shall the City Charter of the
City of Alameda be amended to
prohibit sale or alienation YES
of public parks and recreational • •
lands, including Alameda Golf : NO
Complex, unless authorized by • • •
majority vote of the electors;
except the City Council may lease
or grant concessions, permits,
licenses, or easements in any
public park or recreational
land and may sell any public
park or recreational land
if it is replaced with a facility
of comparable size and utility?"
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all other provisions of
Resolution No. 12199 shall remain the same and shall be in full
force and effect.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 17th day of
March , 1992, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas, Roth
and President Withrow - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
