ADOPTING A CATEGORICAL EXEMPTION FOR THE
ATLANTIC AND MAIN STREET INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Environmental Quality
Action (CEQA), a Categorical Exemption has been prepared for
improvements to the Atlantic and Main Street intersection at the
Naval Base; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda considered the
Categorical Exemption on October 20, 1992; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda has made the
following findings:
0 1. The project consists of signalization and channelization
at Atlantic and Main Street, Median modification,
o acquisition of easement for construction purposes over
Navy land, relocation of the Navy gate and additions to

GI existing bus shelters and bikeways.
2. The project is Categorically Exempt under CEQA,
Guidelines, 15301(c) - minor alterations to streets and
highways.
3. The acquisition of the easement over Federal Lands
appears to be appropriate for a Categorical Exclusion
under National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Alameda that said Council adopts the Categorical Exemption for the
Signalization and Channelization Improvements at Atlantic and Main
Street.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 70th day of
October , 1992, by the following vote to wit:
