AUTHORIZING A GRANT APPLICATION FOR A
COMMUNITY CRIME RESISTANCE PROJECT
TO THE OFFICE OF
CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda desires to undertake a
certain project designated Community Crime Resistance
Program/School Resource Officer to be funded in part from funds
made available through the Community Crime Resistance Program
administered by the Office of Criminal Justice Planning (hereafter
referred to as ("OCJP").
WHEREAS, the School Resource Program will fund positions
for three officers who will develop and improve lines of
communication between the schools, and the police;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager of
the City of Alameda is authorized, on its behalf to submit the
proposal to OCJP and is authorized to execute on behalf of theti
Council of the City of Alameda the Grant Award Agreement including
any extension or amendments thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City agrees to providef,
all matching funds required for said project (including any
amendment thereof) under the program and the funding terms and
conditions of OCJP and that the cash match will be appropriated as
required.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is agreed that any
liability arising out of the performance of the Grant Award
Agreement, a copy which is on file in the City Clerk's Office,
including civil court actions for damages, will be the
responsibility of the City and the City Council. The State of
California and OCJP disclaim responsibility for any such liability.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received
hereunder will not be used to supplant law enforcement expenditures
controlled by the City.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 19th day of
April , 1994, by the following vote to wit:

Roth and President Withrow - 5.
