DELETING EXPLANATORY
MATERIAL ON ACOUSTIC TREATMENT FROM AIRPORT ENVIRONS
POLICY 7.3.1 OF THE .GENERAL PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda General Plan, Airport Environs
Element, contains an explanatory paragraph under Policy 7.3.1
stating that there are benefits from a program of acoustic
treatment in exchange for avigation easements; and
WHEREAS, this statement is no longer correct because of a
significant increase in activity at Oakland Airport since 1991,
when the General Plan was adopted; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is seeking to have the Port of
Oakland evaluate noise mitigation measures other than acoustic
treatment and avigation easements to comply with the State Noise
Standards; and
WHEREAS, the explanatory paragraph is not an adopted part of
the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the explanatory paragraph can be deleted by a
formally documented editorial correction; and
WHEREAS, an editorial correction to the General Plan is a
continuing administrative activity and is therefore not a project
under the California Environmental Quality Act.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Alameda hereby
deletes the italicized paragraph of explanatory material from
Airport Environs Policy 7.3.1, Alameda General Plan.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 16th day of
August, 1994, by the following vote to wit:
