AUTHORIZING APPLICATIONS FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM
USED OIL RECYCLING FUNDS
UNDER THE USED OIL RECYCLING ENHANCEMENT ACT
AND AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR
TO EXECUTE ALL REQUIRED CONTRACTS AND DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have
enacted the California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act which provides
funds to cities and counties for establishing and maintaining local
used oil collection programs that encourage recycling or
appropriate disposal of used oil; and
WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board
has been delegated responsibility for administration of the program
within the state, setting up necessary procedures governing
application by cities and counties under the program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda will enter into an agreement
with the State of California for development of the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda as follows:
1. That the submittal of grant applications to the
California Integrated Waste Management Board for all available
grants under the California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act is
authorized for the period of December 1, 1995 through November 30,
1997; and
2. That the Public Works Director or his designee is
hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City
of Alameda all necessary applications, contracts, payment requests,
agreements and amendments hereto for the purposes of securing grant
funds, and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the
grant applications.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council
of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the Sth
day of December , 1995, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, DeWitt, Lucas,
Mannix and President Appezzato - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSENTENTIONS: None.
