AUTHORIZING STATE-LOCAL AGENCY AGREEMENT WITH CALTRANS FOR
FEDERAL CONGESTION MITIGATION AIR QUALITY (CMAQ) FUNDS FOR
DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE
PARK STREET/OAK STREET CORRIDOR SIGNAL TIMING
WHEREAS, on May 4, 1992 City Council authorized staff to
proceed with CMAQ funding for the Park Street/Oak Street Signal
Timing project; and
WHEREAS, Caltrans has approved $64,950 in Federal CMAQ funds
for the Park Street/Oak Street Corridor Signal Timing Project; and
WHEREAS, the Park Street/Oak Street Corridor Signal Timing
Project will enhance traffic operations through the Park/Oak Street
corridor by installing signal interconnect lines, installing a
southbound left turn lane on Park Street at Clement Avenue,
upgrading outdated signal controllers, and providing improved signal
timings on Park and Oak Streets; and
WHEREAS, Program Supplement . Agreement Number 015 to Local
Agency-State Agreement No. 04-5014 covering preliminary and
construction engineering, and construction for the CMAQ Project must
be entered into in order for the City to be reimbursed for this
work; a copy of the agreement is attached to the Staff Report; and
WHEREAS, Caltrans requires a resolution from the City Council
authorizing this agreement; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Alameda hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into the
agreement with Caltrans for CMAQ funds for the preliminary and
construction engineering, and construction for Park Street/Oak
Street Corridor Signal Timing Project.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council
of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 6th
day of February , 1996, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers DeWitt, Lucas, Mannix
and President Appezzato - 4.
NOES: Councilman Arnerich - 1.
