AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT WITH CALTRANS FOR
FEDERAL AID CONGESTION MITIGATION AND AIR QUALITY (CMAQ)
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FUNDS
FOR PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING, CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING,
AND CONSTRUCTION OF
ATLANTIC AVENUE CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT (CML-5014(010))
WHEREAS, in October 1995, the City submitted the Atlantic
Avenue Corridor Improvements for consideration under the Federal
Aid Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Improvement
Program; and
WHEREAS, Caltrans has field reviewed this project to their
satisfaction and has authorized this project to be eligible to
ieceive $245,000 in Federal funds for preliminary engineering,
onstruction engineering and construction of the Atlantic Avenue
Corridor Improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Atlantic Avenue Corridor Improvements Project
will upgrade and/or replace signal controllers on Atlantic Avenue
as 'between Main and Webster Streets and provide the installation of
ttmissing signal interconnect to enable improved coordination of
signal timings; and
WHEREAS, a Program Supplement Agreement Number 019 to
'Administer Agency-State Agreement No.04-5014 covering preliminary
e gineering, construction engineering and construction for the
a ove referenced project must be entered into in order for the
City to be reimbursed for this work; and
WHEREAS, Caltrans requires a resolution from the City
Council authorizing this agreement; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Alameda hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into
this Agreement with Caltrans for Federal funds for the
preliminary engineering, construction engineering and-
construction of the Atlantic Avenue Corridor Improvements
Project.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council
of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 6th
day of May , 1997, by the following vote to wit:.
