Resolution 12966CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12965 AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF APPLICATION FOR HAZARDOUS MITIGATION GRANT FUNDING WHEREAS, the City of Alameda proposes to abandon the existing Fire Station #3 structure at 1703 Grand Street, Alameda, and construct a replacement facility approximately three blocks away; and WHEREAS, this proposal will eliminate the seismic safety problem at Fire Station #3, eliminate all related safety/hazardous problems, as well as have ancillary benefits to the overall ability of the Alameda Fire Department to provide service; and WHEREAS, the proposed relocation of Fire Station #3 is consistent with policies of the City's General Plan, and is the City's preferred long-range solution to providing essential services; and WHEREAS, at the Special City Council meeting held on anuary 20, 1998, the City Council, by unanimous vote, authorized he submittal for Hazardous Mitigation Grant funding for the replacement of Fire Station #3; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda filed for the Hazard i igation Grant Funding on January 31, 1998; and WHEREAS, the Grant Application was deemed complete by the Office of Emergency Services (OES) on February 13, 1998; and WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requires a Resolution from the City of Alameda authorizing submittal for Hazard Mitigation Grant Funding. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda hereby authorizes Tim McNeil, Alameda Deputy Fire Chief, to file an application with the Governor's Office of Emergency Services for Hazardous Mitigation Grant funding, a copy of which is on file in the Office of the City Clerk, for the purpose of obtaining certain federal financial assistance under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, P.L. 93-288. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Alameda is hereby directed to Certify the Certification of Designation of Applicant's Agent Resolution and Certification authorizing submittal of the Application for Hazardous Mitigation Grant Funding, attached hereto as Exhibit A. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda hereby authorizes Tim McNeil, Alameda Deputy Fire Chief, to provide the Governor's Office of Emergency Services the assurances and agreements required for all matters pertaining to such disaster assistance. 26. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, P.L. 93-288, as amended. Diane Felsch, City Clerk City of Alameda CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION No.12966 AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR 1998/99 TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT (TDA) FUNDS FOR PEDESTRIAN/BICYCLE PROJECTS WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) has allocated funds for Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 3, Pedestrian/Bicycle Projects for the fiscal year 1998/99; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda wishes to apply to the MTC for the funding of two projects: $61,000 for the Signalization of Park Street at Alameda Avenue for the Pedestrian Safety Project and $10,597 for the Retrofit of the M.V. Encinal Ferry Vessel for Bicycle Storage. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the, City of Alameda authorizes the filing of applications with the MTC for allocation of TDA Funds for fiscal year 1998/99 for the projects described above, and authorizes the Public Works Director to execute any necessary documents.
