Resolution 12986CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO.12986 ESTABLISHING DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE PROGRAM GOALS FOR FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 1998 THROUGH JUNE 30, 1999 WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) requires that local agencies maintain a current Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program for administration of Federal aid projects; and WHEREAS, per City Council Resolution No. 11517, the City of Alameda has established a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program; and WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation has established criteria for amending DBE goals to include: The annual overall DBE goals based on anticipated contracts to be awarded during the anniial goal period. 2. A description of how the goals were established and a statement that the DBE program is available for public inspection for 30 days. A statement that the U.S. Department of Transportation and the local agency will accept comments on the goals for 45 days. 4. Assurance that public comments received will be used only for informational purposes. WHEREAS, federal regulations (49 CFR Part 23) require a minimum single DBE annual goal of 10%. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that said Council hereby amends the City's existing Disadvantaged Business Program in accordance with the abovementioned criteria, and establishes an annual goal of 10%. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed to submit a Proof of Publication to Caltrans of said DBE Program amendments and goals. 4\RESO\DBE.GOA I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5th day of May , 1998, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Kerr, Lucas and President Appezzato - 5.
